JEPQ

Think of JEPQ as two engines working together: a portfolio of large U.S. growth stocks plus an options strategy designed to turn some market volatility into cash income. It seeks meaningful participation in Nasdaq-100-style growth while producing monthly income from option premiums and stock dividends. The tradeoff is important: the income can soften the ride, but JEPQ can still lose value and can give up some upside when markets surge.

What $100,000 Could Look Like

Same method as SCHD: buy about $100,000 of JEPQ at the start of the sample, do not reinvest distributions, keep the shares, then show ending share value and cash distributions separately.

2023 HISTORICAL SAMPLE
$100K → ~$121,810 NAV
+ ~$12,200 cash distributions
About $134,010 combined value. Sample uses Jan. 6 through Dec. 29 market prices; distributions are kept as cash.
2024 HISTORICAL SAMPLE
$100K → ~$117,477 NAV
+ ~$10,147 cash distributions
About $127,625 combined value. Sample uses Jan. 5 through Dec. 27 market prices; distributions are kept as cash.
2025 HISTORICAL SAMPLE
$100K → ~$101,822 NAV
+ ~$10,727 cash distributions
About $112,549 combined value. Sample uses Jan. 3 through Dec. 31 market prices; distributions are kept as cash.
No reinvestment: these are teaching samples built from historical market prices and actual per-share JEPQ distributions during each sample period. They intentionally separate the value of the shares from the cash paid out. Dates follow available trading-day endpoints, so they are not JPMorgan's official calendar-year total-return figures.

DOJO
ROLE

Income Engine

In the Dojo experiment, JEPQ is the income engine and adjustable risk lever. Its job is to generate substantial cash flow while retaining meaningful growth exposure. SCHD supplies the steadier quality/dividend side; VMFXX supplies defense and optionality.
